Adopting a Pet

Pets can be a wonderful addition to your life. If you are thinking about bringing a pet into your home, please consider adopting from a shelter. Shelter pets make wonderful lifetime companions, and you will be saving the life of an abandoned or neglected animal. All animals at our shelter were impounded and not reclaimed by their owner, strays, unwanted or they were turned into us by people who could no longer care for them. Our vision is to give abandoned and neglected pets a second chance to live a long and healthy life, in a safe loving home.

Adoption Responsibility

To adopt an animal you must:

  • Be at least 18 years old & be able to provide verifiable identification
  • Guarantee adequate exercise, food, water, shelter, vaccinations, medical care, grooming, identification, lifelong care and love for your new pet
  • If you rent, provide permission for a pet from the owner or manager of your rental unit
  • Adhere to state and local ordinances pertaining to animal care and control

Adoption Fees

Adoption fees for dogs and cats include the cost of the surgical sterilization of the animal (for dogs & cats over 4 months). New pet owners incur the cost for heart worm test, first distemper/parvo vaccination, deworming and rabies vaccination.

If the animal is already spayed or neutered, the adoption fee is only $25. Other adoption fees are listed below:
