Computer Services

The Daphne Public Library computer lab has numerous technological features to better serve the public.  The library also has a Library AV Technician, Michael Neyers, at the Help Desk near the computer lab entrance.  Michael is happy to assist patrons with technical issues and also facilitates one-on-one training and formal computer classes.  To schedule an appointment with Michael, dial 251-620-2507.

The lab offers patrons access to sixteen Internet workstations, overhead digital projector for meeting or training purposes, headphones, a large flat screen television, and speakers for group viewing purposes, and a print server with printing & scanning capabilities.

Black & white prints are 15 cents each, color copies are 25 cents each, and photo printing is $1.00 per page. To print from a lab station, print as usual & wait for the Vendprint to pop up. From there, follow these steps:

  1. change the document name & enter your lab number (i.e., number of the computer you are using)  
  2. hit "OK" 
  3. go to print server, find your print job, put your money in the coin-op slot, select print with mouse, and select "Start Printing"

The library also offers wireless printing. The Help Desk will be happy to assist you.

All work should be saved to a flash drive during each session.  At the end of each session, any work done will be erased due to privacy laws.

Please note: the computer lab will at times be reserved for free public training by the library staff.  Dates & times will be posted in the rotunda, and a sign will be placed outside the lab when courses are in session. Free library training sessions will have priority for scheduling at all times. The lab may be reserved for training by nonprofit groups at no charge. Reservations should be made at least two weeks in advance.
