Mission Statement
The City Clerk's Office is committed to providing quality support and assistance to the Daphne City Council and the citizens of Daphne by striving for excellence in keeping and preserving the official public documents and records if the City of Daphne; recording the actions of the City Council; conducting and preserving the integrity of elections; providing administrative and support services to the Legislative body; and meeting other regulatory requirements established by law.Responsibilities & Services
In pursuit of our mission, the City Clerk's office is dedicated to providing:- Open and impartial administration of elections
- Open, accurate, and timely legislative history
- A dependable link between citizens and government
- Receive and process all claims
- Approval of all facility use applications
- Approval of all special event requests
- Supervise and Facilitate Daphne Junior City Council
The City Clerk's Office also prepares the City Council meeting agendas; attends and records the proceedings of all Council meetings; maintains records of all rules, ordinances, and resolutions of the Council; acts as custodian of the official City Seal; conducts all municipal elections; performs all legal advertising for the City; schedules, coordinates, and plans special events and functions for the City Council.
Requests for Public Records
For requests for public information, a Document Request Form must be returned to our office with appropriate information and signed approval by the City Clerk. An Event Permit is required to be submitted for all events including fundraisers, runs/races, and parades taking place on public property (including City of Daphne parks). The Event Permit Application can be filled out and submitted to our office via email, mail or hand delivery no less than two weeks before scheduled event. A Facility Use Permit is required when wishing to utilize any City of Daphne facility. The permit application form can be filled out and submitted to the City Clerk's Office via email, mail or hand delivery no less than two weeks before the scheduled event. Registering to Vote
Are you registered to vote? The Office of Board of Registrars of Baldwin County, Alabama, is the primary public entity which provides for the administration of voter registration for citizens in Daphne and Baldwin County, Alabama. Requests for Community Grants
A Community Grant Application is required when requesting a grant from the City of Daphne. The application and required documentation must be filled out and submitted to the Finance Office via email or hand delivery by June 1st of each year. The requests are considered and awarded during the annual budget process in September of each year. Please call the Finance Director’s Office with any additional questions.
