The goal of the City of Daphne Senior Center is to assist and empower the senior citizens of the Jubilee City to remain part of a thriving community environment, while enjoying a high quality of life. The Senior Center provides excellent opportunities for socialization, relaxation and participation in a variety of programs and activities.
The Senior Center Monthly Newsletter describes the center’s monthly activities in detail and is available the last week of each month. To review the upcoming Senior activities and events in our Monthly Newsletter, please visit our Senior Activities page.
Senior Nutrition Program
The Senior Nutrition Program serves hot, well-balanced meals five days a week. (Note: Seniors must be at least 60 years or older to participate.)
The meals are designed to include one-third of the Recommended Dietary Allowance (RDA). Menus typically include an entree, two vegetables, bread, desert, milk, and juice. The meals are prepared and delivered hot to the center by Valley Food Service.
For seniors on restricted diets, the meals are low fat, low sodium, and low in sugar. Complex carbohydrates are stressed.
Meals are also delivered to homebound seniors who live within the city limits of Daphne, and are too ill or incapacitated to come to the center.
The Nutrition Program is limited to 34 meals per day, on a first-come, first-served basis and a $1.50 donation is accepted.
