|William “BJ” Eringman
Public Works Deputy Director BJ started working for the city in April of 2015. He has a Bachelors of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the University of South Alabama. He has been married for over 10 years and has 3 beautiful girls.
|Clement “Buck” Conway
Solid Waste SupervisorBuck started working for the City of Daphne in 1988. He has a BS Degree in Business Management as well as an MBA from Alabama State University. Buck began work in the Street Department, but when the City decided to start picking up garbage and recycling, he was chosen to supervise the Department. The Solid Waste Department is responsible for the weekly pickup of household garbage, recycling and yard debris (trash).Email Buck
|Carl “Rabbit” Jackson
Mowing Supervisor Rabbit joined the City in June 1990 as a Public Service Worker. His knowledge of the area and vast experience with mowing equipment led to his promotion to Mowing Supervisor in 1996. He has an excellent work ethic and the ability to work well with others. The mowing department mows, weedeats, edges and picks up paper on all of the City’s right-of-ways.
Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor Eric joined the City in August of 2003 as a mechanic. Prior to coming to the city, he worked for Leon’s BP for 7 years. In 2013, he was promoted to the Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor. The Mechanical Maintenance Department is responsible for routine and non-routine repairs and maintenance of all City vehicles and equipment.
Grounds Supervisor Shannon began working for the city in January 2016. He has several years experience in landscaping from Auburn University and 5 Rivers. He has an Associates Degree in Horticulture. The Grounds Department is responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of the landscaping/grounds of all city passive parks and facilities.
Street Supervisor Freddie Johnson started his career with the City in January 1990 working as a Public Service Worker in the Street Department. Over the years, Freddie worked as a Crew Chief, Equipment Operator and Foreman. He is currently a Public Works Senior Supervisor over the Street Department. The Street Department maintains City streets, drainage, sidewalks, street sweeper, signage and assists with special projects & events. Email Freddie
Building Maintenance Supervisor Jim has been with the City since 2006. The Building Maintenance Department is responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of all city facilities including City Hall, Public Works, Justice Center (Police, Jail & Court), Recreation, Civic Center, Bay Front and Library. The department also works on special projects and assists with city events.
Public Works Administrative Staff
Denise Penry is the Accountant/Emergency Management Assistant for the City. She started working for the city in 2001. She is responsible for the expenditures for Public Works and all EMA/Storm related documentation.
Candice Bishop is the Administrative Technician for the Public Works Department. She is the pleasant voice you hear when you call our department. She is responsible for assisting the public with needs related to Public Works. She has worked for the city for 18 years.
Michele T. Hanson is the Assistant to the Public Works Director. She started working for the City in 1994. She is responsible for assisting the director and the deputy director in the daily operations of the department.
