The Old Methodist Church Museum is the 2nd oldest church in Baldwin County, and is enlisted on the National Register of Historic Places. Constructed in 1858 as a place of worship for the residents of Daphne, the church was dedicated in 2001 as a museum dedicated to educating the public about the history of Daphne and the surrounding communities. The Daphne Library is composed of designated areas for preschoolers, school-age children, young adults and adults. The library is comprised of comfortably-spaced shelving, study areas, reading areas, meeting rooms, a computer lab, a reference office, a community bulletin board, and a book shop. To protect its citizens and visitors from fire and medical emergencies, the City of Daphne employs a first class professional fire service. There are four fire stations within city limits manned by a minimum of three professional fire personnel and volunteers. The Daphne Police Department is located in the Joseph H. Hall Justice Center on Highway 98 in Daphne. Chief David Carpenter has served in law enforcement since 1989.
