Library Presents: September History Series

World War I, 1914—1918: A Bloody Turning Point in the History of the West

An in-depth survey into the coming of conflict, the horror of the stalemate on the Western Front, and the peacemaking in the aftermath that brought about the weakening of Western values and the advent of World War II.  We will cover the matter of European states’ national pride and the assumptions of quick victory, the bloody, trench warfare and America’s entry in 1917, European disillusionment and the coming of World War II, and the disastrous setting of maps and borders in the Middle East that set the stage for the many conflicts that continue to devolve into utter chaos today.
