Location of Daphne, Alabama
The City of Daphne is in one of the fastest growing
areas in the nation. Located in Baldwin County, Alabama
on the eastern shoreline of Mobile Bay just off I-10,
Daphne is 11 miles east of Mobile, 45 miles west of
Pensacola, Florida and 150 miles southwest of Montgomery,
the State Capital. Daphne affords its residents the
charm and grace of small town living and yet metropolitan
Mobile is only minutes away.

Daphne has earned a reputation for pristine beauty,
reputable schools and recreational opportunities which
span land, rivers and bays. The Gulf of Mexico's beaches
and Mobile Bay fishing areas can be enjoyed leisurely
on a day off. Abundant fresh water fishing on rivers
and hunting advantages in Baldwin County add to the
enjoyment of living in Daphne.
With the City population approximately 18,000 and growing,
Daphne is the largest city in Baldwin County, with more
than 3.500 students attending schools.
Transportation
Daphne is linked to Mobile to the west and Pensacola
to the east by I-10, a major east-west artery in the
nation's Interstate System. The City is also located
within a short distance of I-65 and U.S. Highways 90,
98, and 31.
There are two commercial airports that are easily accessible
to Daphne. The nearest airservice to Daphne is the Fairhope
Municipal Airport located approximately 10 miles away.
The Mobile International Airport, located approximately
30 miles from Daphne, offers major commercial services.
Climate
Daphne is situated on a high bluff with elevations
running from sea level to 120 feet. The climate is enviable
with an average annual temperature of 65.4· F
(average January 41.1· - July 80.5·) and
average rainfall of 66-68 inches per year. Summers are
long and fairly hot, but the heat is tempered by breezes
from Mobile Bay and the Gulf. Winters are short and
very mild, and spring and autumn offer colorful outdoor
scenery.
