The City of Daphne offers a Search and Rescue Squad along with two excellent ambulance service businesses.

The Daphne Fire Department is also a BLS (Basic Life Support) service provider and is making plans to move forward with ALS (Advanced Life Support). This will enhance our EMS (emergency Medical Services) to our citizens tremendously. This means that the Paramedics on staff will have access to pharmaceuticals and intravenous therapy. Paramedics will also have access to EKG (echocardiogram) machines that will allow them to interpret cardiac rhythms. For the citizens, this will mean advanced care in times of medical and trauma related emergencies. Our Paramedics will be able to better diagnose and treat life threatening illnesses and injuries in the pre-hospital setting. The fire department is usually the fastest source for help in an emergency and with this equipment firefighters will be able to save lives and reduce injuries.

Thomas Hospital is a non-profit, 150-bed acute care hospital in Fairhope offering Baldwin County's only open-heart surgery center, a cancer center, diabetes center, birth center, outpatient surgery and diagnostic center, wellness and rehabilitation center, health resource center, outpatient mental health services and home health services. There are more than 200 physicians on the medical staff and 1,200 hospital employees.

Thomas Hospital also operates Thomas Medical Center in Daphne, an outpatient surgery and diagnostic facility. Diagnostics include Open MRI, CT Scan, bone densitometry, mammography and ultrasound, lab, and X-Ray. TMC also houses several primary care and specialty physician practices.

Thomas Hospital has experienced tremendous growth over the past decade, opening the Thomas Hospital Heart Center in 2002, and preparing now for a major $40 million expansion. In September 2005, Thomas Hospital affiliated with Infirmary Health System, a non-profit healthcare organization based in Mobile. This affiliation will allow Thomas Hospital to grow at a more rapid pace to keep up with the increasingly rapid growth of Baldwin County.

Mercy Medical has been operating as a care provider in the heart of Daphne since 1949 and currently provides many healthcare services including an acute rehabilitation hospital, skilled nursing and subacute care, and inpatient hospice. Their residential facilities provide lifecare retirement living, assisted living, long term care, and Alzheimer's care. Mercy Medical also features a home care program which provides home health care, neuro-psychiatric home care, hospice care, and pediatric home care.

There are several nursing home facilities in the area: Eastern Shore Health Care Center, Montrose Bay Health Care Center, Westminster Village and Mercy Medical.
