Daniel (Dan) Joseph Castrillo, 42 years old, passed away on December 5, 2012, at a local hospital after a brief illness. He is survived by a loving wife of 18 years and three loving children. Dan was a veteran who served in the military for 10 years. He was a graduate of the University of Alabama. The City of Daphne employed Dan for 6 years. He served his community as a firefighter, a paramedic, and most recently as the city’s Fire Inspector. Dan was a member of Christ the King church where he was a loved and respected Sunday school teacher. Many lives were touched through other classes he taught: EMS classes at the University of South Alabama, baby-sitting, First Aid, and CPR classes at Daphne Fire Department, and CPR classes at Daphne High School where he was a substitute teacher.
Funeral arrangements are as follows: Visitation on Friday from 6 – 8PM at the Daphne Civic Center on Highway 98. The funeral mass will be held Saturday, December 8, 2012, at Christ the King church on Main Street in Daphne at 1PM with visitation from 10 – 1. Graveside service will be at Jubilee Memorial Gardens on State Highway 181.
