Benefits are made available to employees through payroll deduction and administered through the Human Resources Department. Any questions concerning benefits may be directed to the HR department. The following are highlights of some of the benefits offered to City of Daphne employees.

HEALTH INSURANCE

The City of Daphne covers the employee cost of medical and dental coverage. The employee cost for family coverage is $148 for medical and $20 for dental each month. Insurance premiums may be tax deferred through the City of Daphne Cafeteria Plan. Coverage begins on the first day of the month following ninety (90) days of employment.

LIFE and STD INSURANCE

The City of Daphne provides Life, Accidental Death and Dismemberment, and Short-term Disability insurance on all full time employees. Coverage begins on the first day of the month following ninety (90) days of employment. Life insurance coverage is equal to one year's annual salary. RETIREMENT PLAN

The City of Daphne is a member of the Employees' Retirement Systems of Alabama (RSA). All full time and part time employees working 20 or more hours per week must contribute to the retirement system. HOLIDAYS

The City of Daphne has eleven (11) paid holidays each year. They are: New Year's Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Mardi Gras Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Veteran's Day, Thanksgiving Day and the day after, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

VACATION AND SICK LEAVE

All regular full-time employees are entitled to vacation leave with pay according to length of service. All regular full-time employees earn sick leave at the rate of 3.08 hours bi-weekly for a total of 80 hours per year. Fire Fighters earn sick and vacation leave at a slightly higher rate due to the number of hours they work.
