Q. How much does my ticket cost?

A. Ticket prices vary and some offenses require a court appearance. You need to call the court to find out the price.

Q. What forms of payment do you accept?

A. Cash, money orders, or certified checks. No personal checks, business checks, or debit/credit cards are accepted.

Q. Can my spouse/parent/friend come to the courthouse to pay the ticket for me?

A. No. Only you can appear before a magistrate and plead guilty for your ticket. If you cannot pay in person, you can mail in a money order or certified check with your signed copy of the ticket.

Q. Can I attend traffic school?

A. You need to appear in court on the date provided by the officer and make this request to the judge.

Q. Will I be able to get a court-appointed attorney?

A. You need to fill out an Affidavit of Hardship. These are available during business hours or you can obtain the form the night of your court appearance. The judge will review the affidavit and make the decision.

Q. I missed my court date! What should I do?

A. Call the court immediately. Failing to appear could result in an arrest warrant being issued and your driver license being suspended.

Q. Can I postpone my court date?

A. No. You will need to appear on the date provided by the officer.

Q. Will my first appearance be my arraignment?

A. No. Your court appearance is your arraignment and trial.

Q. Do I have to appear in court or can I pay for my ticket?

A. Some citations require a court appearance. If you wish to plead guilty to a payable offense you can do so only if you have not had two prior convictions within the last twelve months. If you are unsure if an appearance is required, please call the court.

Q. What happens to my money when I post a cash bond?

A. The amount you posted will be applied to the fine and cost you receive from the judge. Any remaining monies will be refunded. Please note a ‘cash' bond is not the same as posting money through a bonding company.
