WHAT TO EXPECT

The courtroom doors will open by 4:00 pm. Officers will have you go through the metal detectors so try to leave your purse, book bag, etc. in your car and bring only what you need. Be seated and wait until you name is called. The magistrate and judge will give instructions before court begins so it is important you show up on time and listen carefully. If you fail to follow instructions and are unprepared when you go before the judge, you may be asked to sit and wait until the end of the docket. You need to be seated. Standing in the back of the courtroom is not allowed. No food or drinks are allowed in the courtroom and cellular phones must be turned off. When your case is called, you will be asked how you plead to the offense(s). The judge will explain the penalties to you. If you have any questions, you need to ask at this time! If a fine is issued, you must pay before you can leave. We do not accept credit/debit cards or personal checks. There is an ATM located in the lobby for your convenience.
